About the Benefit Evening
This evening will highlight the Just Intonation Guitar Project led by Projections libérantes. You’ll have the chance to see the guitars built so far as part of this unique initiative.
The Just Intonation Guitar Project is an initiative by composer Simon Martin, in collaboration with luthier René Wilhelmy and the Bruand School-Workshop of Guitar Making (École-atelier Lutherie-Guitare Bruand). The project aims to redesign the positioning of guitar frets in order to produce pitches that differ from the conventional system. This opens the door to a virtually infinite variety of tuning systems—whether historical temperaments, extra-Western modes, or, as in this case, natural harmony.
